FF News
Forward Mikel Suarez has departed Bishop's Stortford to move to Belfast where he will study medicine in the hope of becoming a doctor. The Spanish forward joined the Blue Brazil from Dartford in the summer of 2014 having previously played for Boston united and Tonbridge Angels. He had an excellent first season at the ProKit UK Stadium as he finished top scorer for the Blues. Last season saw Mikel struggle with injury but he still helped team-mate Elliott Buchanan win the Vanarama South goalscoring title as we finished in the top half of the table. He was due to finish his seven-year spell in English football this summer to concentrate on his new career but returned to help new boss Gordon Boateng as one of the few players to remain loyal to the club but he has again struggled with fitness. Boateng had words of praise for the Basque-born player: “I would like to thank Mikel for he has done for the football, a true gent, model professional, he has been a pleasure to work with, wishing him every success in his new venture over in Belfast.” Source: http://www.bsfc.co.uk/ Source
