Well I should have realised that it was going to be a poor day when I turned up at Romford station only to see it closed due to a fatality. As for the game, we were sh*t, they were slightly less sh*t. Didn't see the second goal as for the first time since I started supported hornchurch I didn't stay until the final whistle. Ref was however awful, what on earth did he book their no 12 for? , one of many random decisions.

I won't speculate on the game, if anyone else wants to do so, that will be their choice. I will however point out the draconian measures employed by AFC Rushden and Diamonds at half time not allowing us to either buy alcohol or allowing us to leave the ground, which I don't think is covered by FA regulations shame as their fans seemed okay. Burgers were excellent.

Iets move on and concentrate on the league.

Apparently it's an FA rule that the bar/clubhouse for any FA competition game has to stop serving alcohol 10 minutes before the game and can only start serving again once the game has finished.

No alcohol in sight of the pitch either even in plastic glasses.

Letting off a bit of steam, I know we can play better than that. Don't think the journey helped us up there, not the fixture I would have picked. The FA cup can be a big revenue earner for a non league club and I don't feel we did ourselves justice. i don't think either team excelled but afc r&d deserved it.

Don't think it was the fact we couldn't get a drink, it was just the way we were treated about it.

i wouldnt call the team s**t, however i would say the attitude of a group of guys who couldnt get a drink at half time, was an embarresment to hear!!

Seriously the FA rules are rules!! Dont like it, then, well, that is tough s**t!!

Just get behind the team!!!

Mind your own business Annie, in fact it's not FA rules as confirmed by some people FA members who said that rule was absolute rubbish. Thing that annoyed us was the way we were being spoken too.

How dare you can say we weren't behind the team, in fact we were the ones the stand and singing.

obviously a difference in opinion, fair enough.

those that I was standing with were singing and cheering on the team during the first half to the right of the stand to where you and others were standing. As you very well know that!

certainly 5 of us were at the far end during the second half were supporting the team.!!

Braving the weather too!!

Annie, please calm down.

I know how much you do for the club and I'm sure you know how much both JAFTD and myself (and others as well) do for the club. Have a look around the ground to see the efforts that both yourself and we all have all made to improve the club.

I missed two games (including friendlies) last season, one because of illness (Colchester away being the other game) and I always try to be vocal in my support.

To suggest that any of us aren't behind the team isn't really fair and I think you know that.

I criticised the team (possibly a little bit unfairly to begin with) as the FA cup can be a lifeline for a football club such as ours and I didn't think that we gave a fair reflection of what we are capable of on the day. I don't think there were too many Hornchurch fans saying how well we did on the day. There were some good individual performances but as a team we didn't click.

Added to that, there's no FA rule stipulating that we couldn't be let out at half time but we were told in no uncertain terms that wasn't going to happen. It was the rudeness to us that was the real issue there.

Simon, I totally calm thanks!

Im not frustrated about anything, thank you.

But Its nice to know that the finger has been pointed now on to me, I've done nothing wrong! I'm sure the certain individuals will read this and give mouth at me at the next game however!!

Like I care, got better things to worry about!

Plus if you read my first post, where exactly have I pin pointed or singled an individual out??

My term for "Just get behind the team" wasn't aimed at one person, what I meant for it to be was don't let not having a drink at an away day spoil it.

Get behind the team, show your support and enjoy the day, win lose or draw!

My post at the beginning of this was inflammatory and ill-advised. I'm not proud of it and you were right to criticise it.

If I've offended you then I apologise. Please PM me if you feel that I've been unfair to you and we'll discuss it.

Thanks

Going out of the FA Cup is always horrible but especially at an early stage. I agree that the fixture wasn't what we wanted. They were a strong side, one of the best in step 4 in my opinion, who made it hard for us and our best chance was capitalising on early sloppiness which we nearly did.

The main thing now is to win home games coming up and show we are a force in the ryman.

Yellow, did the Canvey bar serve alcohol during the Potters Bar home FA Cup tie? (Unlucky in the replay btw.) Do you know if the Billericay bar did too?
