FF News
Manager Jamie Day has left Braintree Town by mutual agreement. Day joined Braintree in difficult circumstances during the summer and over-saw the re-building of the first-team squad. However, results have not been as good as both the club and manager would have hoped, with just two wins from the first twelve games of the season. The club's Board met on Saturday evening and decided that it was time for a change and chairman Lee Harding spoke with Day this morning and reached an agreement. Harding was disappointed: "It's a real shame for both the club and Jamie, because he's given the job everything he can. “Over the past few months we've spoken almost daily and I know how hard Jamie has worked to bring in players to make us competitive. But we're all in the results business and the league table does not lie. The view of the Board was that change now allows sufficient time for fresh ideas and a fresh approach to turn our season around. “We intend to move quickly and hope to have a new manager in place as soon as possible".
