Premier Division

Abbey Rangers 1-1 AFC Hayes

Sutton Common Rovers 1-1 Westfield

Good first half at GGL with Rovers ahead on 44 minutes via Campbell.

Keeper lucky to stay on the field after clattering Fronsoir.

2nd half not as good but Watson overhead kick goal was good.

Good match programme again from Briggers.

Decent game at Abbey with AFC Hayes going ahead in the first half only for Abbey to equalise with a goal in the first minute of the 2nd half

Draw a fair result I thought. First visit for me and while the ground is still quite basic it's tidy and a good clubhouse as well. 36 page programme was a credit to the club as well. Enjoyable night out

Dorking 1 - 2 Banstead

Looks straightforward enough! However:

(And this is NOT a criticism of the officials who ran the game well in my view.)

Dorking are towards the bottom of the table playing a Banstead side looking to go top of the division.

Our centre half gets two yellows in 23 minutes and is  off, after fair warning by ref.

Some crazy misses by Banstead and good blocks both ends, we get to h/t 0-0.

Some more bookings during second half and we stay 0-0, til our keeper gets second yellow, for kicking ball away after picking up a back pass.

We have a GK on bench and we can still sub someone, 9 men, new GK, about ten to go still 0-0.

90 mins go by, one of our young and local (!) players scores fine goal on break.

Luckily he's young so he can still run after 90 and he is local so he knows where the goal is.

One nil up in added on time with nine men, and I suggest we might crack open a tin of lager to celebrate.

Couple of mins later, fine goal by Banstead equalises, and then, inevitably our skipper from last year forces the ball in our net for what had looked like an unlikely winner for 90 minutes.

Football, eh?

That's life, Jeff !!

I did hear the referee was somewhat 'card-happy'.

So it's either a referee who is out to make a name for himself, OR a lack of discipline on the pitch !!

That is quite funny JR

Knowing the referee as I do I can assure you that he is certainly not out to make a name for himself

and would rather the game be played in a manner that would mean he would go unnoticed and be able to keep his cards in his pocket

Very competitive game and if Dorking play with the same energy and skill levels I am sure that they will make good progress through the season

I haven't been on here for a while as I have been very busy. And you all know there will be a report on the website anyway given about 24 hours.

Still, here is last night's report from our narrow win at Hanworth Villa.

Thank God that texts and PM's are sacrosant !

A bit like the hypocratic oath or the confessional box, and NO, I'm not a doctor or a Catholic !!

Wednesday - Wood 3-0 Bedfont & Feltham.

I will add a report but anyone at the game???? -  I really would value your comments?

For fear of not quite seeing what I saw?:
