FF News Posted October 27, 2016 Share Posted October 27, 2016 EBAC Northern League club Whitley Bay have mutually agreed to part company with manager Ian Chandler. The move brings to an end Chandler's second managerial spell at the club and his fourth spell in his career. Chandler's final Northern League game in charge was Saturday's 3-2 derby defeat against North Tyneside rivals North Shields. Tuesday night saw the club exit the TechFlow Group Northumberland Senior Cup with a defeat at FA Vase holders Morpeth Town. In Chandler's first spell in charge of the Seahorses he led them to a record three FA Vase Final wins in a row, adding that to a Vase win he had during his time as a player with the club. He left the club in 2014, and spent time as manager of one of his former clubs Durham City. However, after the exit of former Bay boss Paddy Atkinson in February this year, Chandler returned to the club. That second spell has now been brought to a close as the club look to replace a man that has given them "a long and extremely distinguished record of service" A statement on the club's official website read "Whitley Bay FC have today parted company with manager Ian Chandler by mutual consent. The Club would like to offer their sincere thanks to Ian for his efforts during this, his second spell as manager, and wish him well for the future. Ian has a long and extremely distinguished record of service to Whitley Bay Football Club both as a player and manager and there will always be a warm welcome for him and his family at Hillheads. The Club is now seeking to appoint a new manager as soon as possible and a further announcement will be made in due course" The Seahorses currently sit in eighth position in the Northern League Division One table.
