Enfield Town v Staines Town

Town will be aiming to build on their impressive run of league results when they host Staines Town, in the Ryman Premier Division, at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

On Saturday, while Town were battling well to secure a hard-earned point against a very good Tonbridge Angels side, Staines were without a fixture and come to Donkey Lane on the back of a 2-5 home defeat by Leatherhead. Last season we did the double over the Swans, winning 2-1 at home and 0-1 away. Two months ago, we went to Wheatsheaf Park and drew 2-2, to secure our first away point of the 2016-17 season, with goals from Harry Ottaway and Samir Bihmoutine.

The Swans are having a mixed season of ups and downs, but are currently 6th in the RPD table, one point ahead of Town in 9th place, who have played two games less. Town have a much better goal difference.

The Surrey outfit have a decent strike rate, but appear to be leaking goals too easily. Towners will be hoping we defend well in this match, put away our chances, and snap up another three points.

Should be a very entertaining evening. Good luck everyone. Let's do it guys!

Some very thoughtful comments posted on the Tonbridge match. Would be interested to hear how people see tomorrow nights going. Looking at their results, Staines are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde side, they are either very good or very average. We don't know which we'll be facing, but their away record is won 3, drawn 3, lost 3. Our league form is very encouraging, we are on a good run, and have shown plenty of passion and commitment in recent matches. We'll need plenty more of that tomorrow. Are we happy to field the same line-up as Saturday, or do we need to make any changes? What do you think?

It looks like bobby had an injury so that would be Dernell starting I imagine. I would also play three up top. I think brad knew it was going to be a tough physical game on Saturday and so picked a side accordingly but I bet there are a few bruises. What about?

Nathan

Harold

Mark

Ricky

Percy

John

Scott

Tyler

Keir

Harry

Dernell

So Percy in for mickey

Dernell for Bobby

And Keir for Billy. But if brad plays 352 then Billy stays in with Keir in the bench.

Spot-on Beardsleyesque  -  keep it nice and simple!

Remember Karl Marx famous saying " The end justifies the means".

We are in a results business, and supporters remember the end result long after they have forgotten the performance.

Nice to think we will turn it on and win in style tonight. Fingers crossed!

Once again we find ourselves a goal behind at the interval. Apparently a screamer from 20 yards out. No information so far on the balance of play, or the chances we have created. This game has a similar feel to Saturdays match. Once again we need a big performance in the second half to make home advantage tell.
