19th DEC - 2nd JAN Match Thread

Recommended Posts

So after 2 Hellenic games yesterday it was back to CCL today at Krooner Park v Farnham.

Farnham came out quickly and took an early lead and then really should have made it 2 when a free header at the back post was missed.  Pretty much from that point it was all us.  Cousins went close before he made it 1-1 at the break.  2nd half was pretty much one way .  McGarry with an overhead kick, Bunyan with 2 and then Cousins with the best goal of the game made it a comfortable 5-1 win.

Disappointed with the referees performance today.  Not often I will mention the man in the middle but I felt today he was very weak and listened too far too much of the moaning.  Also conned on a couple of occasions by players pretending to be hurt who, after the game had been stopped, made a miraculous recovery and didn't even need treatment.  Also let far too much moaning and dissent to go unchecked and unpunished.

Chertsey Town 3-4 Horley Town

Nightmare journey on the M25 the car park that does not move!. Town were without several key players including first choice goal keeper George Hyde. Town were soon two nil down with goals from Mealing. Town hit back before half time with Keran Bowlan scoring both goals for Town with his head. The teams went in at half time all square two two. Town came out and pushed on, Kylie Hough hit the upright and Chertsey cleared off the line before young Tate Greenaway scored at the second attempt. Town then went four two up with top goal scorer Kylie Hough fired home from the penalty spot to put Town four two up. In the last minute of extra time Thompson added goal number three for Chretsey. To make the final score Chertsey Town 3 Horley Town 4 and three more points for Town.

Happy Christmas everybody.

Hartley 2-2 Badshot Lea

A point didn't look likely for Baggies at half time, as Hartley held a 2-0 lead. They were a bit off colour today though and losing Duff mid way through the first half didn't help. Baggies were much better in the second half and more positive, though Hartley wasted a few chances to make it safe. Two late goals secured the point and Baggies could even have secured a cheeky win late on.

Lobsters run continues against a much improved team that we beat earlier in the season. Cambell hits the first half goal and looks keen and hungry for more. Second half the vistors gave away a penalty but it was goal machine Cambell who gets his second yellow card of the game both for mouthing off so lobsters down to ten but Kenze stuffs home the penalty for 2 _0 and his usual back flip celebration and this time just in front of my camera. Worcester soon found the net but lobsters are made of sterner stuff and continued to push on and Kedze could have had more.

The team as well as the pitch is maturing well and apart from the annoying back chat to the ref when he clearly got things wrong the rest of the season looks bright.

good crowd and plenty of kids again, not just for the free chips and drink.

Come on Burger if your going to make comments then get the facts right. Your 7 got cautioned after disagreeing with a linesman decision and when I had a quiet word with him he had to much to say so got cautioned...your 9 then got cautioned for having an opinion on the same incident and after I had a public word with him and the captain he carried on so got a caution. His 2nd caution was because he got the hump because he was not taking the penalty,,,,so he decided to walk of the pitch take his shirt off and jump over the barrier both of which are worthy of a caution so that is why he got a second YC his choice words were aimed at his own team mates! Your number 3 made a clear foul and had to much to say...then your number 8 as he agreed in the bar "took one for the team" think that clarifies the cautions :)

A general statement on no particular incident during the game and certainly not the sending off, but there were things that you did get wrong and I understand one of your linesman was going to have a word, but that was nothing to do with the sending off which no doubt will be dealt with internally by the club and certainly not via a forum.

Tonight's match v Sutton Common Roers has been postponed due to a partly frozen pitch.

Not wishing to be a 'Jonah', but the seven day forecast ain't too brilliant for the Sarf, either.
