Do venues decide officials attire?

Banstead cold and windy. Staines l pretty exposed

Always warmer near the airports my global warming friends tell me

Hopefully you are correct TSF as I am on the line for Heathrow vs Gatwick

Eversley 2 Chessy 2

A few absentees for this one, Figueira signed for Wingate & Finchley in the week, Davison still out with an ankle injury and Myers now away with work for 5 weeks.

Touch and go whether the game would go ahead when we arrived but all parties agreed to start the game and see how it went.

We started brightly and Peters had 2 great chances to score in the first 20 minutes but failed both times to work the keeper.

Eversley always a danger from long throws, corners and free kicks as they had a considerable height and physical advantage over the Chessy lads.

We took the lead in the 35th minute when Kyle Green snuck around the back to tap home a Peters cross past the substitute goalkeeper.

A goal up at half time but we knew we still had it all to do in the second half.

Eversley really took the game to us after the break, we found ourselves pinned in our own half for long spells with their full backs creating their width, our lads were struggling with the conditions but it didn't seem to bother the home side who deservedly equalised just after the hour mark. I'm not sure who got the final touch but to me it looked like an OG from a low cross across the face of our goal.

We did manage to still create a couple of chances, Peters who could of had a hat trick fired straight at the stand in keeper when one on one. Kyle Green picked the wrong option when clean through when he tried to square the ball to Gange.

Eversley kept knocking on the door but the lads were defending well, Tom Tyler at CB had a sensational game.

Substitute Kiemon Robinson done well down the left and managed to get a cross in which was met by the head of Kyle Green to make it 2-1 Chessy with 5 minutes to go.

Skipper Dan Green had a great chance to wrap it up up a minute later when he ran through the Eversley defence but tamely shot into the keepers arms with his weaker foot.

The last time we played Eversley the game finished 2-2 and we managed to concede in the 98th minute, surely this couldn't happen again.......

To be completely honest I have no idea where the referee got 8 minutes stoppage from but fair play to the home side who never stopped throwing bodies forward in search of a leveller.

In the 98th min Eversley got a corner which was cleared but only as far as the edge of the box, the ball was looped back in and bundled into the back of the net at the back post.

When I asked the ref after the game where he got the 8 minutes from because there wasn't 1 stoppage in the half, neither physio had to enter the field, there were 5 substitutions and 2 goals.......he replied "the ball went out of play a lot" not once did we run out of balls by the dugouts, or did the referee actually have to ask for a ball to be kicked on.

Overall a draw was probably a fair result, but we feel that it is 4 points dropped against Eversley in the 2 games this year.

Banstead next, bounce back ability needed.........
