The Hampshire village club will be crowned champions if they beat Epsom & Ewell at Chipstead and Westfield fail to defeat Windsor at home. As they are a massive 23 points clear, It seems only a matter of time, however, before they are celebrating and securing promotion this time around. Joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: “ Ideally I think we would rather win it a week later in front of a home crowd but that is me being very fussy!” Hartley are now hoping to get the thumbs up from the FA at the end of the month when inspectors complete their ground-grading work after Hart Council approved the plans last week. They were denied a step up last season as the Memorial Playing Fields ground failed to meet the governing body’s standards. The council gave the thumbs up for the following work to be done: - The erection of a single storey extension to the clubhouse. - The erection of a single storey extension to the changing rooms, - The installation of a 63-seater supporters stand. - Two covered standing areas. Areas of new fencing (including supporters turnstiles) and areas of hard standing. Brownlie added: “It is great news about the ground.
