Whilst I cannot comment on the behaviour of the Brimsdown side (they may be like a 'Sunday Pub Team'), if they cannot play football ('an awful team') why did Southall not win convincingly?

It sounds much more like as if Brimsdown are a decent football side who don't know how to behave on the pitch?

Cracking game at Hadley last night, two contrasting styles of football but both teams scraping for survival.

St Mags first goal was a great bit of football ??

I don't know the circumstances behind it, but if you are Hadley and need the win, why would you start Ivan Machedo at right back???

If they had gone 2 up top, they would have caused St Mags far more problems...especially with the big man bringing everyone else into play.

Oh yeah...and what a finish for Hadley's first!!

Southall were not at there best and under strength and there was a lot of dirty tackticks by the Brimsdown players which you would have seen if you were at yesterdays game.

The young and in my opinion out of his depth ref delayed the game by 13 mins so the Brimsdown keeper could get to the game a shocking decision by the ref the game should be started on time not because one of the Brimsdown players was late.

Worrying times for Hadley.

Ended last season in a very good 6th place with a good cup win in the Herts Charity Cup. Also fully moved into their new ground now. Whats happened??

So Southall had players missing - why assume Brimsdown were at full strength? It sounds very much like excuses, excuses, and more excuses as to why Southall could not beat, what you describe as an 'awful' team - who finished, according to you, with nine men!!

I am not defending Brimsdown in any way whatsoever, but good SSMFL sides should beat 'awful' Sunday League pub sides - who employ 'dirty tactics' - ninety-nine times (or more) out of one hundred.

Just the opinion from someone that was at the game. Southall had 4 or 5 key players missing like Vine, Hind, Harvey, Simpson and Page to name 5 which didnt help them a draw was the fare result though and out of interest does anyone know how many bookings? and Sendings Off? Brimsdown have got this season?. Out of all the teams that i have seen Southall play this season Brimsdown were the worst team for a good few different reasons. Just my opinion and the persons opinion who was standing next to me and the persons opinion who walked past me in the second half and the persons opinion who i spoke to as i was leaving the ground. The ref didnt help but he didnt deserve to swung at, spat at and then threatend by one of the Brimsdown players as he was leaving the pitch at the end of the game.

I was under the impression that you couldn't start a game without a goalkeeper.

You can't start without a goal-keeper but the referee could have insisted one of the other players (at the ground) started in goal.....

Can't see how a referee can make a player play anywhere personally. If a team refuse to come out on time without a goalkeeper I guess it's a report to the league and let them deal with it

The key issue is whether the referee willingly delayed the kick-off because the 'nominated' goal-keeper was not ready, or whether the away side refused to start on time and will be reported.

Of course, if it was the latter he could have abandoned the game......

Exactly they had a full bench one of there subs could just start in goal no need to delay the start of the game in my opinion. What next flexi time Kick Offs ;-)

I'm sure that would have gone down well with Ms Browne having to re-arrange the game and with the paying spectators who'd gone to see a game of football for the sake of 13 minutes. I believe the same thing happened when they had a home game earlier on in the season where the game started 15 minutes late for the same reason. People moaned but a game of football was completed.

I think the other problem is the integrity of the competition as well, with a specialist position here. This is senior football, and had Southall gone 3 or 4 up in those 1st 13 minutes then questions would have been asked as well. Maybe not so much now, as I don't think they can go up now, but, if they could and it then went to goal difference then what?

All if's, but's, maybe's, and differences of opinion. Where would a forum be without it!

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing that the League rules allow for the game to have been awarded to Southall if Brimsdown (with fifteen or so players at the ground) refused to start the game on time.

And there would be no additional work for Ms Browne......
