Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Scarborough Athletic are running out of tickets for the inaugural game at their new stadium within days of unveiling Sheffield United as their first opponents.

The promotion-chasing Seadogs - bidding to confirm their place in the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North play-offs at Colwyn Bay on Saturday - were forced to suspend online ticket sales on Thursday after supporters snapped up the allocation they'd set aside for the historic 3pm kick-off at the Scarborough Leisure Village on Saturday 15 July.

According to a statement released on Thursday, fans should still be able to purchase tickets in the town after the weekend's action for the first game at their new home after playing in exile for the last ten years at Bridlington's Queensgate.

A club spokesman said: "The demand for tickets to our opening game on the 15 July against Sheffield United has been incredible since going on general sale on Tuesday.

"As it stands, we have sold out of all available tickets from our online shop. There may be a limited number of tickets to purchase in person on a first come first served basis in Scarborough after the weekend. We will announce details of when and where these can be purchased on Sunday."
