Opinions Opinions 433 Posted May 3, 2017 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Although there have been some good performances by Ref's this season I tend to agree that the standard hasn't been the best. I think my biggest frustration is the attitude of some of them (certainly not all of them). Some referees speak to players in an antagonistic way (yes believe it or not this does happen), some run around like they are lord of the manor booking anyone who has an opinion (some of which are not needed I admit) and then you have a few that can take a bit, give a bit and generally do a very good job. The last game of the season "the referee" made so many unnecessary bookings and towards the end of the game refused to tell players how long was left of the game, it was a bit pathetic. It's an impossible and thankless job at times though and fair play to them for giving it a go!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There are just 9 Spartan referees who have managed to be amongst the Top 10% of all L4 referees nationally and be rated Band A (top 20% in the SSMFL) by both clubs and assessors ... and still some people are slating them Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Uncle T Posted May 9, 2017 Share Posted May 9, 2017 Well done to the guys who have been promoted. They will be tested now, and we may see some of them back with us after a year or two. The standard was the poorest I have seen in over 20 years in SSML. Before this season it was the odd game, Mick Ewan did a fantastic job with referees for our clubs.
