New Season Signings & Rumours

Recommended Posts

Seems so.

3 from Cockfosters and 2 from Colney have already joined Welwyn I think.

Only 1 from Cockfosters to Hertford so far.

But a few not so subtle hints floating around in the Twittersphere.

Can't imagine Hertford will want/need to do too much though.

Just keeping last seasons squad together will probably see them start as favourites.

Though WGC could mount a big challenge based on their early activity.

Will be an interesting season coming up, got to be some dark horses in there..

What happen to Dean Barker? I thought he had offers at step 4&5?

Seems a shame his team has been broken up.

Barker is currently in Marbella at a friend's wedding --- football on the back burner at present...

Can see Leighton shocking a few people next season. Seemed to turn it around towards the end of last season.

As for Barker, the statement when he left seemed to imply him taking on a step 4 team was imminent.

Haven't seen any announcement yet though.

He'd built a good side there. Can't imagine it's possible for them to go up at that ground though. So perhaps he wanted something with a chance of progression.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Dedman (Macca) as 1st Team Manager at Ampthill Town Football Club.  Adam arrives back at the club for a third time having previously spent two other spells as a player, having played at Northampton Town, Kettering, Brackley Town, and Bedford Town he has a good depth of playing experience behind him and is looking forward to his first venture into Senior Management.

" I am delighted to be given the opportunity to manage at a great club like Ampthill Town and I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead and meeting up with Players and Staff as soon as possible".

We wish Adam all the best for the new season and beyond.

Outgoing manager, Gary Maidment , will be stepping upstairs to take up a senior position on the board.  After two enjoyable years he wishes to the thank all the players who played under him for their hard work and enthusiasm and will always remember the trophy win at Barton in 2016.
