The Grays chairman has been quoted in a local paper as saying that this will be the last season they will play at the Rec but has not stated where they will play in the future. Are the rumours of a merger with Thurrock that were doing the rounds last season about to come true, the fans on their forum are less than happy and i don`t blame them.

the hotel isnt in grays.. a merger with purfleet just means more money n better players for purfleet..
the rec may be a bit of a craphole but i like going there on a tuesday night.. great bar and its bang in the middle of grays.
franchise football strikes again in the ryman prem..
new flats on the rec and some nice 5 bed exec homes down blunts wall road.. all for the good of the club mind...

They have some deal that the Rec can`t be sold before Grays have a new ground but when it`s sold i`m not sure if the money stays with the club or goes elsewhere.
Like you Canv i like the clubhouse at Grays and the ballcourt there is a real moneyspinner but you can see why they have to move to progress as will we.
