A group of overseas City of Liverpool supporters have donated money towards season tickets for the club to distribute to worthy recipients.

Nine members of the Brigade Internacional supporters club have each donated £100 to purchase an Adult season ticket, for the club to allocate to families in the city to encourage parents to bring along their children to Purps' home matches.city of liverpool fc

The gesture has been made by Owen Sarjeant (USA), Heidi Sparem (Norway), Helge Solbaaken (Norway), Lenny Gill (Bosnia & Herzegovinia), Joe Smallman (Australia), Anjennette Leubrecht (USA), Stuart Fearon (Australia), Suzanne Tempsick (USA) and organiser Peter Carter (Australia).

COLFC is providing five of the Season Tickets to the Owen McVeigh Foundation on behalf of the Brigade Internacional, and will also be presenting the other five Season Tickets to Kevin Morland, founder of local charity An Hour For Others for the same purposes very shortly.

Club Media Director Gary Johansen said: "'Brigade Internacional' are a large group of supporters who follow our club from numerous and various countries across the globe, and their very generous donations will go to help our fans in the City go to our games and take and encourage their children to come along too.

"Altogether it's a fantastic gesture, and highlights the community spirit the club endeavours to keep at the forefront of its ethos, supporting one another, and encouraging children and families to get involved in supporting their local team.

"Both the Owen McVeigh Foundation and An Hour For Others are fantastic organisations who constantly look to help those less fortunate and who are in need, so this is a brilliant gesture from our overseas fans".

The Owen McVeigh Foundation raises funds to help and enrich the lives of children who are ill with cancer, and their families, in the local area.

An Hour For Others operates a network of people willing to get involved and give up a little of their time to help the most needy within the community.
