Cheshunt FC v The Town

Recommended Posts

Only an hour to go now before Town take the field against near neighbours and local rivals Cheshunt at Theobalds Lane this evening.

So far The Ambers have won all three of their home pre-season friendlies, beating FC Romania 4-3, Hoddesdon Town 3-2, and Sawbridgeworth Town 6-3.

Both teams will be very keen to give a good account of themselves in this match, and it promises to be a real cracker, with plenty of excitement and no shortage of goals.

Enjoy the game and let's have your thoughts on our performance and the result.

0-8!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, young men versus little boys.

So much for the A10 classico eh?

Hope that puts an end to certain people's delusional posturing? (You know who you are!)

GOOOOEEERN TOWN!!!!!

That was a case of men v boys so no complaint with that well done the towners and i did have a chat with Andy Leese after the game and told him the same. At the end of the day it was a friendly and your team had the better attitude and players of course. One problem was one of your fans having a pop at our club calling it a shit hole (he had glasses and a blue shirt), i called him a prick and he had no come back, apart from that enjoy your win and roll on the new season.

Well, well, well, that was a real hammering for The Ambers wasn't it!

Great credit to Andy Leese, Darren Purse, and our new squad of players, that they have knitted together so quickly to turn in that kind of performance.

Expected a win, but certainly not by that size margin. Well done guys, a good evenings work!

First game ive managed to get to since the semi...wasnt sure what to expect. Well what a good job done in a small time period. Players looking comfortable. Good spirit so soon. Purse directing from the back. Was impressd in most areas of the pitch as we seemed to have a number of different tactics on offer. Thought the left winger 8?? played well. Gabriel showed good glimpses and Mickey as strong as ever.

Overall a lovely mix of youth and experience blended together. Also nice to see the subs get on and make as big an impact....things are taking shape.

Finally wont see a better couple of goals at any level...half way strike and also the rocket in the top left corner from Noto. Well done to everyone for such a goood turnaround :)
