Pics to fundraise for brave boy at Stalybridge fixture

Rushall Olympic are looking forward to welcoming local hero and quadruple amputee Tommy Brown to their EVO-STIK League clash with Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.

The five-year-old lost one leg below the knee and one above the knee, his right hand and the fingers from his left hand after contracting meningococcal septicaemia, a form of meningitis, as a five month old baby.
 
Kind-hearted officials at Dales Lane are hoping to help his parents parents Julie Tuckley and Dean Brown raise funds to buy prosthetic limbs for their brave son who was only given a five per cent chance of survival and has since defied the odds to continue "proving that everything is possible in life with a beaming smile on his face".

As well as holding bucket collections during the EVO-STIK League Premier fixture, the club is also promising to donate £5 from every £10 adult ticket sold to members of his fundraising community group on Facebook through the turnstiles.

Rushall Olympic commercial manager Chris Hession said: "We're delighted to welcome a very special guest to our home match on Saturday against Stalybridge Celtic. Our ticket prices are £10 meaning that all attending from the group will be in the knowledge that £5 will be donated to Tommy should they attend the game. There will be collection buckets dotted around the ground throughout the day. Even just a small donation will help to go a long, long way to making Tommy's future better."

The young football fan's battle has touched the hearts of people in the region and Olympic's support comes after West Bromwich Albions fans, players and officials led by Baggies legend 'Super' Bob Taylor raised £6,000 at a fundraising auction at the Premier League club earlier this month. The auction of Albion-related goodies included shirts worn and donated by Premier League stars Jake Livermore, Jay Rodriguez and Nacer Chadli.
