Mehew steps down at Mangotsfield United

Evo-Stik League South West club Mangotsfield United have confirmed, that manager David Mehew resigned following defeat to Toolstation Western League side Odd Down in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round.

Mehew returned to the Mangos in October 2015 following the departure of Richard Thompson.
 
‘Boris’ as he`s widely known, first joined Mangotsfield in June 2014 following seven successful years in charge of Gloucester City, after previously being assistant to Tim Harris.

A striker with Leeds United, Walsall and Bristol Rovers, he was a coach at Bristol Manor Farm and also played locally with Bath City, Forest Green Rovers, Weston-super-Mare, Paulton Rovers and Clevedon Town as well as Rushden & Diamonds.

However, this season to date as seen Mangos lose both of their opening league games and then exit the FA Cup to lower league Odd Down.

Veteran former Bristol City goalkeeper Steve Phillips will be in charge of first-team affairs whilst the committee search for a replacement.
