Ossett Albion's 2-1 victory over Radcliffe was not only a welcome result but a chance for the new owners to see their team in action following a week of new signings.

Andy Welsh, the former Sunderland midfielder, and Jason Price, the ex-Swansea City and Doncaster Rovers striker, made an appearance and linked up well throughout the game. In addition, fans' favourite Brett Souter arrived from Sheffield FC and the Kebeye brothers, Danny and Amos, joined from Parkgate FC and Braintree Town respectively.

This series of new signings is the first but not the last for Albion as the club goes through an overhaul. Chairman John Chidlaw stated: "We want the right type of player, which means the right type of attitude. We aren't interested in short term, we are building something special and we want our new players to not only understand this but to buy into it as well."

First team manager Dave Haley will this week have his first full training session with the new group and start to weave in his ideas for style of play and tactics ahead of a trip west to Prescot Cables where Albion will face a tough challenge against the 5th-placed team.

"We know there is a job ahead of us on the field and we hope to match all the hard work the new club officials are doing off it. The immediate plan is to get the lads working hard and working together, we have a talented group and we aim to get the very best out of every performance and start accumulating more points as soon as possible." said Haley.
