Eustace hails Harriers hotshot Brown

Kidderminster Harriers manager John Eustace hailed the scoring prowess of striker Andre Brown after the former Crewe man bagged his fifth goal of the term on Saturday.

Brown has had a stop-start season thus far in terms of time in and out of the starting eleven.

He's made just six starts thus far but still has five goals to his name – the latest a swift effort off the bench in the 2-2 weekend draw with Spennymoor Town.

In fact, 'swift' barely does it justice. Brown was involved in the game for just 4.6 seconds when he nodded home James McQuilkin's delivery.

Some hailed it as a super sub from the gaffer but, while admitting nobody could have guessed the immediate impact he'd have on this occasion, simply praised it as another instance of Brown delivering the goods.

Of such substitutions, he explained: "Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't!

"We certainly hadn't planned for him to go on and score from that free-kick, but Andre scores goals.

"That's what we need and he is a terrific, 20-year-old footballer.

"He is going to have a big future."
