FF News
Slough Town's FA Cup second round tie with Rochdale will be an amazing chance to show off the club and its facilities to the rest of the country. That's the view of joint manager Neil Baker after the tie was selected by BT Sport for live coverage on Monday, December 4. It also means that the Rebels will be in the draw for the third round of the competition, which takes place before the players trot out at Arbour Park, something the management team believe could be a real carrot for the squad. The game will also bring in a major windfall with BT Sport set to pay the Rebels £72,000 for staging the tie. However, it's the romance and magic of the cup that will grip Slough Town's supporters ahead of the sell-out clash next month. "It's amazing for the club financially," said Baker. "But from our standpoint it's also about letting everyone know what we're about. From the council's point of view it's a wonderful chance for their facility to be shown live on TV. For the vast majority of the players this will be the first time they've played live on TV. "It's not something you get to do very often unless you play in the Premier League. This run has really exceeded our expectations but we don't want it to stop here. We're not talking about this as our FA Cup final. We want to progress from here into the third round."
