Following the cancellation of the originally scheduled fixture at Saffron Walden Town, tomorrow (Saturday 14th July) Town will now travel to Wembley FC for a 1PM kick off friendly at Vale Farm Sports Centre 3G pitch. This facility is next to the Vale Farm Ground, and the clubhouse at the ground will be open from midday.

Address: Wembley Football Club, Vale Farm, Watford Road, Wembley HA0 3HG

Sudbury Town on the Piccadilly Line is the closest tube station which is a 5-10 minute walk away. Sudbury & Harrow Road Train Station is also close by with a walk of approximately 5 minutes.

For those travelling by road, there is ample parking at the club.

Please note that the venue for Tuesday's friendly at Beaconsfield Town is now a 7.30 KO at:

Queen's School, Aldenham Road, Bushey, Herts, WD23 2TY

Gutted to miss the first game of the new look team - walking to the ground vs a long drive to wembley makes it a no from me.

Re Tues night - in my memory we played a midweek pre season game at a school in either 2011 or 2012 in that area (I worked in Rickmansworth at the time making it easy to get to) - is this the same one?

Difficult to judge much from this really. Very hot day played on a 3G pitch with no supporter facilities - fans stood on the side of the pitch or on the grass banks outside the fence - and several players were still away (including Billy Bricknell).

Game was competitive so credit to both sides for that. Numerous trialists used, particularly in the second half - the practice in recent years of not naming trialists I find detracts from the supporter experience as we have no idea who anybody is! 3-0 win, with 2 goals from trialists (the other from Matt Johnson). I thought the No 10 had a good game, as did Junior playing in defence (isn't he a forward?) and the young No 17 looked lively. A few others also had good games on a difficult pitch, including Remi Sutton at left back. Aaron Greene was the pick of the bunch for me.

Tuesday night's game is at a school so I imagine will be similarly devoid of supporter facilities. Any thought being given to moving the Cheshunt game back 24 or 48 hours?

Thanks for update AT.

Yes seems a strange start to preseason - I was planning to attend Saffron Walden( as local), and then Beaconsfield - but if its at a school does not feel like a "proper" match to drive 100+ miles to for me.

On another note - I assume we are playing 1st team for the Spurs game, so we will play U23s against Cheshunt on the Tuesday?

the whole pre season set up looks uncompetitive and badly scheduled... why do Saturday Monday Tuesday ?..... does anyone agree or am I being a miserable old git.....

Perhaps because Saturday and Tuesday have been scheduled for a while and the late chance of the Monday game then came along.
