Team taking part

from England - Crown & Manor, Somersett Ambury V & E, Waltham Abbey

from Japan - Bankers FC, Kawataka FC, FC Milanello

 

The Competition was run in two groups with the three English playing the three Japanese teams, they the top team from England and Japan play for 1st and 2nd place the next team from each country play for 3rd and 4th place and the bottom team in each group for 5th and 6th place.

 

FC Milanello won the Japan group and played Waltham Abbey who won the England group for 1st and second place, Waltham Abbey took the Cup with a 1-0 win in the final, Crown and Manor took 3rd place with a win over Bankers FC and SAVE took 5th place with a 2-1 win over Kawataka.

 

In the group game results went as follows - all games played 20 minutes each way

Crown & Manor 1 - 2 FC Milanello

Crown & Manor 2 - 0 Kawataka FC

Crown & Manor 2 - 0 Bankers

 

Somersett Ambury V & E 2 - 0 Bankers FC

Somersett Ambury V & E 2 - 0 Kawataka FC

Somersett Ambury V & E 0 - 2 FC Milanello

 

Waltham Abbey 1 - 0 Kawataka FC

Waltham Abbey 3 - 1 FC Milanello

Waltham Abbey 1 - 0 Bankers FC

 

SAVE v Bankers - Game 1

Sam Ledger put SAVE into a 1-0 lead heading in a cross from Steve Wales and then Seff Be'an made it 2-0 beating the defender and placing the ball past the keeper. That gave SAVE a 2-0 half time lead and they held onto the score line to take the victory.

 

SAVE v Kawataka - Game 2

The score was 0-0 at half time but SAVE pushed on in the second 20 minutes to score twice Steve Wales beating the keeper from the edge of the box to make it 1-0 and then Billy Wingrove score minutes later to make it 2-0.

 

SAVE v FC Milanello - Game 3

The visitors took a 2-0 lead, Mark Virgo was beaten by a shot from the edge of the box to make it 1-0 at half time and then from the penalty spot in the second half to make it 2-0. with Waltham Abbey winning all their matches and Crown and Manor having a better goal difference after two wins out of three games SAVE went into the 5th and 6th place play off.

 

SAVE v Kawataka - 5th and 6th play-off

Jeff Cross blasted a ball past the keeper from the edge of the box to make it 1-0. Then Seff Be'an made it 2-0 with a great solo goal hat gave SAVE a 2-0 half time lead.

 

In the second half the visitors came back into the game when from a SAVE corner that Mark Virgo had come up for the visitors made a break, Mark managed to get back and stop the shot on the edge of the box, he then made a second save when the clearance from Sam Ledger was heading for goal, the visitors final put the ball into the net past SAVE defender and Assistant Manager Dave Craig on the line with a Fancy Dress Pink Panther Head On.

 

At the after competition presentation Steve Wales was named as English player of the competition.
