Long way to go this year but my vote has to go to JK at the moment.
I was not happy about him moving to central midfield from the right but i have to admit he has been blinding.

Too many to choose from at the moment, will see who sustains their form through to nearer the end of the season. It is certainly going to be hard to make a decision.

JK is my player. Always first in with the tackle and never stays down and winges and wines, just gets up and gets on with the job.

As ever Wardy and Boylan will be contenders but I have a feeling Mints or Potter may nick it this year

No mention of Neil Midgely so far.

I forget that Midgely is on the pitch on occasions. Shame as this wasn't his preferred position but we have lost something on that side with JK now switching to the middle, although we have gained there.
Would be good to have a player in Midgley's position as a worthwhile outlet with some pace who could cut in like Duffers does.
If we do go up next season then we need some more pace in the side.

I think Midgley has played a lot better in the last month or so and hopefully this will continue till the end of season.

So has Ian, in the Thisselt Road Methodist Sunday League Under 40's Division. But it doesn't make him SPOTY.

Lee Protheroe as far as we're concerned!!

Come on lads, you've wrapped up the league, even 11 blind one-legged monkeys couldn't drop it this season so can't His Highness Sir Jeffrey gives us Proths to the end of the season?

Pretty please.

Depends on how much youve got in yer kitty Stu, I can see that we may well want to keep him, hes regarded as a quality player over here at Canvey!

According to news from south of the river, Protheroe's been told he's not in Kingy's plans next season, but neither can we sign him yet as you want him back for cover until May. We've a view to signing him then, but if he's a free agent and some other moneybags club come in for him, it would be typical if we missed out again!

Picking one player of the year is going to be really tough this year - there are so many candidates in my eyes. Must be much easier to pick the team each game.
