That basically sums it up , Alan - to be honest, I almost felt a little embarrassed at how many we thrashed them by. Morecambe should have scored at least a couple in the second half. The seven-minute spell in which we scored four times was just one of those rare moments when a side can simply score at will.

Having said that, it was of course an outstanding performance by us. Pinnock's two goals , unbelieveably given the position he was in in the pecking order a few weeks ago, seems to have installed him as first choice striker for next week's match at Aldershot. Who will partner him is anyone's guess now Roy's loan has sadly ended (as the chant went in the second half, 'sign him up!'). On the other hand, the defence and midfield seems set in stone for the moment.

Fantastic result and afternoon's entertainment. Agree with previous posts this is probably a very rare match where everything went for us and they missed some absolute sitters. Great performance by all especially Pinno, Drury & Perks. When Pinno played in the friendly against the Gills, a few weeks back, he certainly has a spring in his step and extra sharpness in his game. Like to see him go for goal more often as he did in the 2nd half.

When the 3rd went in I couldn't help but jokingly shout for '9'.... a few minutes later at 6-0 up with 30 mins to go, many in the main stand were seriously calling for the '9'.... just amazing.

I think a few of their fans left early but I was surprised to see their entire group of directors/vip's had walked in the first few minutes of the 2nd half.

Well done the Fleet, and thanks for a day to remember.

The 7 minute spell was amazing and at that time we could've got nine but crefdit to Morecambe who in the end where able to sort out it out and not concede more then six. Still whether 6-0 was deserved scoreline or not we deserved to win and it will give our team a huge boost in confidence at home!. Also that game coupled with our away form will help the lads confidence at Aldershot which will be a very tough game. No coach, but i hope to see a lot of fans making their way up by train and car. Also some kind of drum at Aldershot please.

The best thing about Morecombe (even though this might have insulted some Fleet fans), was the 'inbred' chants. The fact that both sets of fans were in together more than compensated for the absence of the drum!! Absolutely class performance, Phil Battersby didn't look too good, but the others were beyond words. Look two points behind you, Bentley and Jacko...

Mwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Right about the drum, I still think that some sort of backup drum should be left at the club for if the drummer cant make it, also it could be taken to big away games like fboro, margate daggers, aldershot...
I am sorry to dissapoint you though, Mr Bently is now playing at Southend

You're behind the times KShep - Benno left D&R a couple of months back and signed for Southend.

And I think its Tony Battersby rather than Phil. He did look a bit sluggish, but Andy admitted in his post match interview on RK that he was lacking match fitness. And after Roy, we dont want to judge a player on one performance - let alone one that lasted only 25 minutes or so.

It was an amazing game!! we could've beat Hereford's little tally the night before just a shame we maybe took our foot off the gas a little. Wasn't too sure about Battersby but I guess he needs to train with the team. Manny look sharp. Moussa was being taught offside by Gledhill!! ha ha!

As for Walmsley well, sort your hair out you poof!! Needs to stick to selling welks!

Absolute dreamland on Saturday.

Am presuming that Walmsley is their number three who was the dead ringer for Paul Calf - northern muppet!

Morecambe were frankly awful.

We were good but I think that we can play better than that. Stevenage away springs to mind and we only drew that game.

That said, everything ran for us on Saturday - let's keep it rolling!!

Just wanted to say well done to all the lads for their display on Saturday. It was so good to leave a home game with smiles on everyones faces and that 6 minute spell was dreamland stuff.

One question not related to the football though is what has happened to the tannoy?

You could not hear anything behind the goal? Have all the speakers at the covered end now packed up? I think the last time new speakers were added was when Jock did the announcements and how long ago was that?

Their number 3 was Perkins, England semi-pro left back.
They had a high number of dirty soap dodgers especially number 29 who looked like Jesus.

Weird beard was Chris Blackburn, who they'd only just signed from Northwich. After losing 6-0, he must've thought he was still there...
