Another good result for my boys this evening, I was totally shocked at just how bad Braintree were (Are they Canvey in disguise??? ) Up to 13th now and looking realisticly for a top 10 finish, not bad for our first season in the prem along with having played 7 with no points at the beginning of the season.<p>ONWARDS AND UPWARDS. COME ON YOU EAGLES.

I think you and I both know that it has a fair chance of coming down to that.<p>The thing is of course we don't want Canvey to win the league purely because of the way money interfers to much with football but in all honesty it will probably help the eagles in the longer term if they do go up this year simply because then they will be out of the way for the working mens football clubs to battle it out without 'rich uncle canvey' ruining it with his fat gold chain and his cheesy grin. <p>As for the sympathy performance request for the last game of the season, forget it. If you are serious about going into the confernce have the title won before the final day because theres only one team we want to win everytime we see them..........and thats the BEDFORD.

Incredible how a few good wins brings the fair weather supporters out of the woodwork. I always felt Bedford were under performing first half of the season and sooner or later would turn the corner, well done for proving me right. Go ahead try beat Gravesend if u can. They've been my choice for promotion, not only will they have deserved it but it also keeps Canvey as an Essex derby for us when we're back with a strengthened first team to battle our way to the conference next season. (yep i say that partly tongue in cheek). Then i wonder If canvey miss out again next year - assuming they fail this year, will kingy have had a gutfull (lol) get bored and give it away?

But for you crowing Bedford supporters getting carried away by 11th place as has been said on this board before re-assemble these prophetic words to form a well known saying. "Fall before comes pride a". need a clue? If U happen to see Paul Nicholson around next few days, tell him not too many goal repeats on my video of last nights game hehe. Good luck Bedford.

Strangely enough those same souls that have come out of the woodwork had to sit through the first half of the season which was a very painful experience I can tell. You can’t tell me if our positions were reversed your fans wouldn’t do the same. Some of those now happy souls were venting their fury on our message with some vigour and take it from me, players and team officials do look at these message boards and public opinion can make a difference. Back to more serious business I’ll mention to our intrepid reporter Paul Nicholson about adding replays of your missed chances few that they were, so you don’t have any extra undue suffering of course

Well done Bedford ,Helps us on our Quest for 3rd place this season,We still have some hard games in the next few weeks,Purfleet,Sutton and Canvey

but then a walkover in Kent but we are confident of getting that 3rd place.

Just received and viewed the video of the Bedford v Iron match. Hmm wonder which game the author of this thread was watching? Sure Bedford looked the sharper and a two goal difference was deserved on the balance of play. Even so Iron carved out a number of goal opportunities. We'll have to nickname this particular Eagle fan - cyclops. Its easy being a one-eyed supporter but much harder to take an un-biased view of things by doing that in no way dimishes ones loyalty to the club they follow.<p>[ 21 March 2002: This message was edited by: Iron knob ]</p>

If you were a regular visitor to this forum bald eagle you'd be aware that i'm operating from the other side of the planet for much of the football season, and yep Mr Nicholson of Bedford, certainly does do a fine job on videoing matches. Hopefully i'll be domiciled back in the old dart permanently sometime in 2003. I note you had a great result at Hendon tonight, very well done. I happen to be fond of your club, but ya do your level best to antagonise others and do the Eagles no favours in the process.
