.....driver who works for us headed off to Shrewsbury by train this morning - he called me at work just after midday to say he's stuck on the train just outside Milton Keynes due to points problems!

If he's lucky, he might make the 2nd half.....

I've just got home from work and spoken to him......hilarious!

He managed to get a different connection from Birmingham which would have got him to Shrewsbury for 14.30......

.....(notice the words 'would have').....

.....except there are very high winds up there right now and trees all over the line - he's currently stuck at a place called Hanstead (North of Birmingham) and the guard told him there's been reports of a tornado ripping the roof off a car park in the town centre!!!!!

Glad I went to work now.....I see from sky sports that there are games getting abandoned as we speak due to high winds too.

Er , maybe because instead of sitting in dirty compartments with a lot of unknown folk, you can travel with your choice of companion(s), door to door, listening to your choice of radio channel/CD.
