TROPHY TIME

well things have worked out nicely.. leaving us in the position of being able to play both legs we no need to fit any league games in ..

Telford have been tranformed since we last played in the trophy n nicked that win on a swamp of a pitch.. i think they have a rich backer now and a spanking new shiny ground.. its gonna be tough

Telford have Lee Mills who was playing in the Premiership for Bradford several years ago. They also have Tony Naylor who played and scored for Port Vale in those epic FA Cup games all those seasons ago.

Two good strikers who could play at a much higher level.

For those that saw the game 3 years ago, Telford gave us most problems out of the 4 conference sides we played to win the cup.

Thankfully Jonah got the goal but we were hanging on in conditions that were virtually unplayable with torrential rain.

3 years on and again Telford will be a very hard team to beat. Forget our 6-0 demolition of Farnboro as this team went on to beat Aldershot 4-1 the following week so we played another team that day.

From our experience of reaching the semi final 3 years ago, we know that we have to compete hard in the away first leg. If you remember, we should of finished off Chester 4 or 5-0 in the first home leg but we had to weather their early storm in the 2nd leg but still came away comfortable winners after we scored the first goal up there. Now whether Chester were not quite as fired up over the first game to their home game, we’ll never know.

Telford will be going hammer and tongs to ram home the home advantage on Saturday, and as well as staying in the tie, we must make sure we take our chances when we can. The midfield and defence have got quite a game on their hands this weekend and I hope they are really up for it.

Telford’s league position is false you would of thought and they should be much higher especially after their performances in the FA Cup this season (look where Millwall are!). Seems they are more of a cup side rather than week in week out performers.

Whatever happens, could be that both matches are going to be tight.

As long as we keep that belief in our side, we can run them close.

All the best boys.

Odds taken from the Coral Weekend Coupon for the tie this Saturday

Win : Telford Evens, Canvey 11/5 Draw: 11/5 as well (don’t seem right!).

Very predictive statement there - although I'm not sure you mean 'riches to rags'. Their pitch is still awful though (as you are probably aware).

Looks like your game will still go ahead tomorrow so good luck.

well very good quotes from telford fans lets hope they get the receivers down to unlock the gates to let us in!! they may have a ex premiership star upfront but at the end of the day these players only care for the money and if they dont get paid they wont give a flying crap as usual!! come u yellows!!
