In our local paper today, there is a picture of Cressing station on the front page, headline "Youth Shot in the face" underneath the photo it says, "Scene of a shooting- a 17 year old youth from Braintree and a train were fired upon in two incidents close to Cressing Railway Station."

Cressing is about a mile or two down the road from Braintree.

"Police launch major hunt for gunman after teen injured"

2nd shooting in our area, as last month we had the Burger van event which Canv mentioned. (That was in Braintree itself)

What sort of gun was involved, Mark ?

Air gun, or actual fire-arm ?

In the report it says.

"...when he was struck in the left cheek by a pellet from an air rifle shortly after 2.30pm yesterday.

British transport police notified Essex police and an ambulance took the youngster to Broomfield hospital, chelmsford where he was treated for his injuries. "

If he was shot in the left cheek, good thing the headline clarified that he was hit in the face!
