Just a few thoughts about last night's performance having got back at 3am, I now just feel ready to write something vaguely coherent.

First half was dull, we had the better of the chances with Moussa getting clear a few times down the right and Mooro, Shears and Roy having headed chances. Leigh seemed content to thump long balls down the middle at Whitman and McNiven which our centre backs dealt with easily.

Second half we improved with the introduction of Pinns for Manny who looked either injured or ill. Pinns closed down their defence a lot more and forced them into errors culminating in his goal where the goalkeeper tried to dummy him and failed leaving hima simple chance to slot it into the empty goal.

Fleet dominated for a period then which included Roy's bullet header from 3 or 4 yards from Drury's quality cross.

Leigh still seemed content to thump long balls at small players and brought on a couple more for the fun of it.

Ben Surey did well on his first start and isn't afraid to put the boot in as well as displaying some nice footballing touches, Walshie looked hungry when he came on and would have scored if a Leigh defender hadn't kicked him in the face as he ran past. We ended up playing Moussa and Pinns up front as Roy went off after getting booted by a cultured Leigh defender.

All in all a professional performance and one which highglights the improvements made over the season, Leigh were abjectly poor and deserve to be relegated, if they do somehow escape it's an easy 6 points next year.

Special mention to possibly the mouthiest ball boy ever and a "strange" individual who thought it necessary to throw chips at us.

The fact that the ball boy displayed his Real Madrid shirt with 'Beckham 23' on the back perhaps suggested he was more interested in winding up the away support than cheering on the Railwaymen. frown.gif
