As the greatest ever Essex born fella once said ;

If the Fleet get the win over the Dagenham Daves and Plaistow Patricias on Saturday , this is what we find

1) We finish Saturday afternoon in the top half of the table

2) we move above the Daggers

3) We would mathematically have maintained our conference status for next season.

certainly Reasons to be cheerful, part 1 , 2 and 3.

4th anniversary of his death this week.

Gone but not forgotten, a true inspiration..

He wasn't born in Essex...anyway.

I read the excellent book by the unfortuanely named Richard Balls a few years back and I'm sure he was born in Ireland and moved to Harrow at an early age.....or born in Harrow and spent some of his early life in Ireland.

He moved to Cranham nr Upminster for a few years....and for some reason felt he belonged more to Essex than Harrow.

Or was it because Essex has more credibility than Harrow ? <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

There is a new book out on him, the author of which was on Danny Baker last week, and it sounds v interesting - comes with a cd - but can't remember the author's name [was it Jack Scrote I wonder!!!] or book title.

He couldn't be associated with Harrow because Rionel Lichie had already done that.
