90 Minutes From Villa Park, Again!!

Recommended Posts

Or maybe a little more than that!

Can’t believe there is no discussion for the game this Saturday. Yes the conference is the main thing this season but that can be forgotten about now until Saturday night. Apart from the high profile FA Cup games, we have one of the biggest games ever to be played at Park Lane in three days time to appear in our 2nd national cup final. This time however we can achieve this right on our own doorstep, not over 200 miles away.

The build up should pick up towards the weekend but I feel that things are a bit muted at present, like we don’t know what to do with all this success!

Come on everyone, a very big match at the weekend then hopefully a great day out on May 23rd.

It’s going to be a very tight game and Telford do not give much away at the back. With Tony Naylor up front for them, 5ft nothing, they will have to play more of the ball to feet and not the big hoof like we often see. As like last Saturday, will be interesting to see all the little personal battles all over the field.

Again, if selected, Wardy, Chenners and Gavin will have to be colossal again at the back. The midfield will have to work their socks off again and stop those dangerous cut-ins from the wings that end up on the edge of our area. Must get a tackle in before they can get there (Dobbo will let them know!). Up front, we won’t have much change up there unless we can unlock them.

I’d expect Telford to start fast again like last week where they had their best chances in the first 15 minutes. This week, we will have to come out of the starting blocks as well.

All the best lads and hopefully we will be looking forward to another big day out and another special day in Canvey history with the right national headlines and coverage.

No doubt it`s a massive game for CIFC and we will have to be at our best to win it. I think we have the team to do it but will we have the support, anyone know how many tickets we have sold?

The club made this game all ticket and i just hope this does not backfire on us with a low turnout and a quite Park Lane. Let`s hope peoples memories of Villa Park have been stirred and they will turn up to support the team.

Oh and a fit Greggers would be nice.

With the Telford supporters concentrated into one area, there will be quite a noise coming from there.

All the Canvey supporters will need to make a noise this week to compensate. I just hope we realise the importance of this game and our voices will need to be heard against Telford’s. Expect a lot of taunts from them.

Let’s send Fred into their end as he needs a lot more practice with Jingle Bells. Oh No!!

Wonder if they will bring that ruddy flag round?

This ticket idea has worried me too, I feel they may have shot themselves in the foot with one.

A lot of the fringe supporters wont want to go out of their way to buy a ticket unless its a high profile FA Cup game.

A good few only make their minds up on the day and just like to arrive at Park Lane and pay at the gate.

Then again if they are for sale at Penn sports on Saturday morning as stated in tonights Echo, then I can see some late purchasing.

I think a crowd of around 1500 is probably expected. The problem is those neutrals who would have fancied turning up for the day are not going to want to trek over to Canvey to get their tickets unless they know a Canvey fan who can get them.

Will be one neutral in my party although I hope she'll be supporting Canvey despite her allegiance to another Ryman League team <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Have a feeling this one wil be an epic. Extra time is a distinct possibility!
