just wondered what most fleet fans think of the fact that gills could be going down this season?

would it be nice to see our local rivals go down or would we like to see them stay in the first division?

Small time club who've done well to perform above their level for the last couple of seasons.
I for one would be delighted if they go down.

It certainly wouldn't do our attendances any harm if they went down.

not necessarily though, most people go and see a winning team if they can help it. if they go down, for the first few weeks gills would almost certainly lose out. but if they start winning and are on top of the division or close to it, people will flock back. Remember how many they took to both playoff final games!!

That's a valid point, Squawk - fans can easily be lured back to a side winning games on a regular basis rather than struggling in and around the relegation zone, even if it is in the division below. Shrewsbury and Exeter have certainly discovered that this season, with their attendances staying above the 3,000 mark despite relegation.

Anyone seen Hull's attendances this season, by the way? ...they're amazing!

It's not only this season, they have always been good. It's because HULL is geographically isolated from other big cities,so there is a large area to draw on for support without competition.
