Yep. But free coach travel being laid on by the club for the away games should we make it

Shouldnt cost the club much then, you are very unlikely to make the play offs anyway and if you do should only cost the club 2 lots of taxi fares.

What a prat.....Must've hurt yesterday for pathetic comments like that.

Anyway, must dash, got a life doncha know. Can't stay here all day, discussing our victory over ya all, got a mansion to run, grounds to tender, servants to order about. Enjoy your spell in the Conference next season and try not to litter the Queens Highway with all your mobile homes next season. It is so trying when getting from game to game and having to wait for the breakdown van to clear your trash up....Oh sorry, there won't be very many of you travelling...distance a problem for you lot.

See ya, have fun, good luck for next season, you'll need it.

I've got the greatest respect for what Canvey have done this season.

But a few weeks back - when our game vs Hednesford was mysteriously postponed, a few of us came down to watch Canv vs Maidenhead.

It was noticeable to us that the crowd was fairly quiet, which was a shame considering it was a cup match. There were a few bursts of Yellow Army from one of the sides, but overall the atmosphere was flat.

Sorry...but that was how it felt, and Jeff King's comments echo that!

Maybe if your car-park-end terrace was under cover, others would join in with the shouting because the sound would be concentrated/amplified.

But if you are moving soon, would you bother putting a cover over it now?

Oh dear. You go on the ricay forum. Be honourable in defeat, congratulate them on a job well done and admit they were by far the better team on the day and that we were crap then offer them best wishes and what do you get:

you still get abused and told your support is crap. Yeah it was crap. As I've said me and 3 other blokes were trying to get some singing up but it was an absolute waste of time.

Mal is right about the support and other people have commented on it.

A friend who attended the Telford Trophy 2nd leg said how quiet it was considering the importance of the game.

We've spoken about this until 'we're blue in the face'. At Park Lane you can hear a pin drop but away the vocal support is superb.

The support at Bedford, Mangotsfield, Telford and especially Hornchurch and Stafford (in the pouring rain!) was quite superb.

We need a bit more of that at home. Maybe all the regulars need to be put on a coach, driven around the island for an hour, and given a four pack of Stella, John Smith's each. That would get the atmosphere going!

Next year we will be more together at home games as the seawall will be for away fans only. Hopefully we can generate a some noise on the main terrace.

What concerns me more and which hasnt been mentioned on here yet is the size of the crowd yesterday Ok it was the highest League crowd of the season but it was barely over a thousand. I had hoped that the crowd would be closer to two thousand.

The club needs to do some community work over the summer to get some more fans in. Not just in Canvey but in the local area.

I dont even live on Canvey but still come to virtually every game home and away.

Come on everyone, lets face it, Billericays highlight of this season happened yesterday.

It was there FA Cup, FA Trophy and Essex Senior cup all rolled into one.

They are a pathetic bunch and we all know it, so we should let them get on with their lot, especially with their new money man, oh yes and didn,t they put the downer on other clubs with money men behind them!! different story now isn't it.

Sad load of Dick Heads.

They are where they belong! lower than us!!

I can vouch for that. Having gone to both the games Canvey v. Bedford this season, Our home support used to be pretty non-existent, but since Wilson buggered off, it has been pretty good even against your lot, where there was a good atmosphere. One match was quiet and Hornchurch fans will tell you all about it. But when we went to the home game at Park Lane, once you'd scored the second goal and the threat that we posed (threat? what threat?) you calmed down and began to sing. I wouldn't worry about it this season as you're flying high, but next season when you MAY struggle, I'm sure you won't, but that's when you need all the home support you can get.

being favourites to take the title has not helped.. most of the season its was a sense of relief bagging three points rather than joy at winning a game.. just getting into the conf was everything..

going back to being underdogs will suit just fine.. away support is always better than at home for pretty much every football club in the land

Dear oh dear...."A sad load of dick heads"....Ah well, at least we were not hanging over the back of the terraces when the presentation was being made, abusing the away support when they were getting in thier cars to go. Your biggest day of the season so far and all some of the support could do was shout abuse and not enjoy you lifting the trophy...Now that is being a bunch of sad, pathetic dick heads.

And why shouldn't beating the league champions at their own gaff be one of the high lights of what has been a difficult season for us, with the added extra of the local rivalry? Tell ya what, you have the level of support that we have, in the position that we have found ourselves this season, beat the league champions, who happen to be local rivals and tell me, "it doesn't matter"? Of course it would. You would be pretty stupid to say it wouldn't (well, to be honest...... <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)

I would continue to say good luck for the rest of the season but reading all this tripe, I'm beginning to wonder if you bunch of sados really deserve the team and the club you have.

the hanging over the terrace incident was mildly amusing.. some riccay fan rounded the corner and made a comment about mobile homes but kept his head down.. when he and his 3 mates had reached thier car they got a bit braver , the two in the back made sure they had their seat bealt on before joining in and none of them wished to take up the invite to come and see the trophy presented all jolly good fun

Hmmmmm, from where I was, no one was "heads down". Some of us had another game to attend and therefore had to decline the kind offer of "Come and see us lift the trophy you w**king c**t". I did the double header of Chelmsford at New Lodge....A disapointing game after the "feats" of earlier.
