The so called experts in the non league paper have predicted that canvey will win the title! Are these the same so called experts that predicted that gravesend would finish mid table in the RPL? Oh i will stop my rambling but i just dont agree with all "experts". Like if Burton are such a great non league side then why did Gravesend beat them 2-0 at eton park? I know Gravesend style of footy not the pretiest but if it gets you results then who cares!

Probably the same experts that last week showed a picture of Canvey's Micky Bennett and called him Mark Stimson, and this week showed a picture of Chris Duffy, and called him 'Steve Ward a striker'.<p>If Wardy is our striker, then heaven help us wink.gif" border="0 <p>Mind you the same NLP - has reprinted last weeks fixtures, and some articles and pictures from last week.<p>They couldn't expert a hot dinner, as the saying goes...

So Fleetman, just whats wrong with Gravesends style of football. I have been really impreessed with them. I would say that there style has changed from game to game depending on the opposition and the surface. How many time s have you cheered along with the others at Stonebridge Rd this season when the 'Fleet' have been passing the ball around. <p>As for the experts, we will just have to wait and see. Are you really sure the 'Fleet' will win those last two.<p>Car Jam

games lost is (mostly) the key to any title we have lost 6 the fleet 4 the other fleet only 7

and thats 1 2 and 3 in the league.. you cant slate G and N for their style at all, look at how many goals they have scored! ,, we have only been ahead of them twice effectivly this season by 2 points at xmas and after we beat them at their place on goal diff(yes points in the bag are worth more especially back in early jan when we had 3 or 4 games over them so you have to admire their character in reeling those in) its getting a bit late for my squad strength prediction to bear fruit.. we HAVE to win the last 2 games as pressure is the only thing to stop them now

And By the way, I missed the last 3 games after a trip to the Lakes. Ive just been catching up. Merv if youre out there, your report on the Grays game is a classic<p>'Its heart attack time'<p>I will be glad when its all over, putus all out of our misery.<p>Carjam

I shant be going through it at the match. Late shift on Saturday and early shift for the bedford game. Just the Kent Senior Cup final left for me, unless I decide to go to Bedford at speed.<p>Braintree will be tricky. It is close though, thought they might like to help you out a bit.<p>CarJam

im away this weekend but bk in time for the 'tree game, cant see em wanting to cut us any slack and that is the way it should be.. hopefully it will still be game on by then!!..

whoever wins the league, i saw that the daggers took less than 100 fans to their crucial away game last night (hereford i think).. i cant help feeling that conf level footy should be regional

100 Fans, thats sad, If Gravesend were in that position you could probably add a zero.<p>As for regional, I have already stated that if Gravesend dont go up I can live with that. I really hope they do. I have no intention of travelling more than 100 miles maybee for any game. Its Ok when your winning. The conference should be split, North and South and the winners play off. A return to Div 3 North and South to go with it would be ideal.<p>CarJam

I think nerves will be a bigger factor for the frontrunners. We gave G&NFC a couple of scares before they (deservedly) took the points. I can't see Canvey failing to take all 3 points, unless of course they clam up. Iron have had a great season on limited resources. I believe that can be illustrated by the fact we've only managed one point from the other top 5 clubs all season. All power to our players who refused after being under the cosh to hold out for a draw and then grab 3 points in numerous matches. I still prefer to see Canvey stay in the Ryman Prem if only for the Essex derby matches and the prestige these millionaires and former trophy winners are giving the Ryman.

Here in Germany, which is quite a bit bigger than England (or England and Wales), only the first two levels are national, and the third level is divided into North and South, and therefore gets much less publicity.<p>So, a split into Conference North and South or Division Three North and South would save costs but reduce prestige and therefore income. The disadvantages have to be weighed against the advantages very carefully.

I would be far happier if things were split. A good way of getting two chapions into the league as well.<p>As for this weekend, nerves have to come into it. Gravesend will need an early goal. Canveys match is probably the hardest. Sutton are just the sort of team to cause an upset. If Gravesend failto win the title this weekend after a blip from Canvey then the odds will once again be with Canvey for the final day. Bedford could be a nightmare.<p>It will be interesting to see just how much the Bedford fans would want there team to deny Gravesend the title. Years back the two sets of fans had a real rappor with each other. They would then have celebrated together.<p>I love Bedford Town.<p>CarJam

Infact further to that last post, if im not talking to myself. Just how Bedford will you cope next week. I fully expect anywhere between 3 and 5 thousand supporters to travel next week. Can you cope. When it gets this important its amazing how they all appear.<p>Car Jam

I loved to know how you arrive at these figures Car Jam <img src="graemlins/images/icons/confused.gif" border="0" alt="confused" /> I would think at best 2000 would be absolutely tops and is not likely. Consider Fleets last game had an attendance 1800+ and this could of been the title decider. Let's face it 50% of this support won't travel, Eagles probably have 600+ this still only means about 1500 and our capacity is double that. Still won't know until next Saturday, I wonder if any Fleet fans and any thoughts on what the attendance will be?

I've already posted on our board that a sensible and logical guess would be that around 500/600 will travel, but you can never tell - we expected no more than 3000 for the Canvey game and there were at least 5000 there. <p>Personally, I'm against the conference being regionalised - I love being a full-blooded footie fan travelling to all these exotic places like, erm...Bedford...and...Enfield...er.... <img src="graemlins/images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0" alt="[rolleyes]" /> <p>Point is is that if (and it's a big if) we do go up I can't wait to say I'll be off to Scarborough and Morecambe et al on the weekends - for me it's more part of a footballing culture than being a stupidly huge fan (which shamefully I am already am anyway). Yes it costs a bomb but it's worth it (in my view). <p>Finally I'll say that next week it's still in our hands. On paper we have by far the easier tie but anything could happen, as it already has. <p> <img src="graemlins/icon21.gif" border="0" alt="[icon21]" />
