It would appear, certainly if you read the local press, that the possibility of Gillingham Fc moving into the Borough of Gravesham is regrettably gaining momentum.

Gillingham have made no secrets of their financial situation and are almost certainly facing relegation to the 2nd. division at the end of this season. A fact that will put still more pressure on their finances and almost certainly mean lower attendances going forward, a move away from Priestfield therefore is looking to be less of a neccesity, if it ever was anyway.

The whole affair looks like a club, who are clearly going in the wrong direction, both on and off the pitch, looking to secure financial grants by moving into a major development area regardless of the knock-on affect of any club that may already exist in the area. In the Fleets case a club that is going in the right direction.

My view is that Gravesham should say a very big and unequivocal NO to any approach from Gillingham Fc and allow the Fleet and the Fleet alone, to take sole advantage of any development grants that may be available.

It should not be forgetten what happened to Dartford when they entered into a groundshare arrangement with Maidstone United.

Could this go far enough as to protest marches being organized?
