Last Night's Meeting

A select few supporters attended a meeting last night at the football ground. The criteria to select thease supporters where those whom would not criticise the club.

I understand that no decision was made but to stay in the conference would cost the club around £400k

Thats the figure, now that you have mentioned it, that I was told DOVER wanted so that we could groundshare again with them. Thanks for the confirmation. This is the ASTRONOMICAL figure I wouldnt mention on the other post because I couldn't believe that figure was a true figure and couldn't believe my ears. Greedy bastards those at dover. Would have thought they would negotiate a "fair" rent considering they have been relegated and money will be an important issue next year.

Have you got anymore snippets of information from that meeting MR.Anonymous?

That does sound rather a lot.

At Fleet we let Dartford groundshare , it cost them in the region of £20,000 per season, if what I'm told is correct. About £1000 per game seems about fair to be honest and until Darford's new ground is built both parties appear to happy with the arrangement.

[color:"blue"]Aren't you jumping to conclusions ? Surely a figure of £400k would not just be groundshare, but also loss of advertising revenue, local sponsorship, reduced admission numbers, programme sales, 50/50 draw sales, concession revenues etc.

It all adds up, especially when - to rub salt into the wound - we'd also be paying for the rental of Hartsdown (even in it's derelict state). [/color] <img src="/images/graemlins/chat.gif" alt="" />

Was just reporting what I was told by someone who attended the meeting. Seems a bit far fetched to me.It was said that that figure was to keep us in the conference so you have to work things out from that for yourselves.Am also sure, like you that it must entail more than just the ground rent.

Bloody hell well we know that anyway. I aint one of those people handpicked to go along on thursday but i know that piper said many times that we need 500k to be able to complete next season in the top level of conference.

that aint happening. lets face facts. stop bein so bloody blinkerd. and my advice to the club is stop the silence and sort yourselfs out. your pissing me off.

Cost us 2.4 million to build our new ground. We gave our board a lot of stick but they made the tough decisions, sold the worlds oldest football ground and built a new one. Your lot either don't believe the Conference will have the guts to abide by the rules and throw you out or are not committed to playing at the top level of non-league football.

Roll on the AGM on the 31st and safety for the super greens, crap on the pitch, maybe lucky off it !!!

Appreciate your position is opposite of ours - you have a spanking new ground, but have not been good enough on the pitch to stay up. You are, however, in a good position to regroup and have another go next season.

We however have a team good enough to stand up with any at the highest level and do not deserve to lose that place, given what the team has had to contend with off the pitch this year they are all heroes.

Most of the problems we have had to contend with with the stadium project have been completely not of our own making. But with some luck, compromise, and just a smidgin of support from an utterly heartless council I still hope we can stay where we belong. We deserve to be there.
