Why?

[color:"blue"] Why have the club stuck two fingers up at the other 500 or so fans that watch their club week in week out to a bunch of supposed 'loyalists' who wouldnt say one thing bad about the club and think the sun shines out of keith pipers backside!

I would be the first to admit keith piper has done wonders for the club, but the club are hiding stuff from its fans/customers/loyal SUPPORTERS! [/color]

Let's have a reality check for a moment.

I seem to recall not so long ago during another news blight when many were saying that there were not and had never been any funders. Well there are, amd everything KP said would happen did.

I recall not so long age too that KP and the club stood up at the presentations in the centre spot and said to look on the official website for news and we all applauded and said here here and well done.

Then it goes quiet for a bit and everyone comes out of the woodwork and atarts doubting and conjecturing like mad.

This lack of news is very stressful and I feel it too, but if it only takes a day for us to turn on the club, it's a pretty poor show.

I think we should give them a chance and try to be patient. We only have 'anonymous' rumours to go on - do you trust them more than KP? I have not seen anyone 'anonymous' working tirelessly to help bring the stadium project to fruition.

I know I bang on a lot about this but I really think that, if I was KP, and I perused this website, I would wonder why on earth I bothered.

I am a KP fan but sometimes he and the club allow this to happen. People are only asking for frankness and to be kept up to speed a little more often thats all. When these "behind our backs" meetings are called, it will be understandable that fans get the hump. After all these are the people who continue to go the matches and get behind the club. These meetings can only cause friction among fans.I am not anonymous and I can confirm that the meeting took place last night.A little bit of gelling wouldnt go amiss.

Again the loyal supporter IS behind KP and his work but sometimes its frustrating to be kept in the dark, thus the harsh words, and rightly so.

We really should try to maintain faith. Maybe there are still negotiations going on, maybe there is some frantic scrambling to find people who can fund groundsharing at Dover. Clearly the Conference haven't made an announcement and therefore it may be inappropriate for the club to release news when a final decision is still in the balance. We can't all know everything and we should trust those who have carried the fight for us to this point.

Its all very well saying be patient, but weve been patient for 2 years and all the news weve had in that time has been found to be pretty much rubbish. The time has come for straight answers KP, How many do you think will follow the club to crabble next year? In what league?

I agree it's frustrating but I have no power to do anything so I must have faith in others. KP could easily have given up but hasn't, he is in a position to do something and so he has my support. How many would go to Dover next year, is a difficult one. If retain Conference status I will go (but probably not buy a season ticket again) and I suspect most of the current 400ish will continue. Conference South, I'd give it a go. We do just have to wait and see as any amount of moaning wont achieve anything and will only alienate club from supporters.

Margate Don you are a man after my own heart.

I have been thinking this over overnight (who hasn't?) and I still think we must stop thinking with our guts and emotions and try to engage our intellects.

If there was a meeting with selected supporters it is probably most likely that these were people who support the club financially or with their labour. They have an absolute right to know what stage negotiations have reached. I cannot think of anyone else who could be a 'favoured' one. We have two rival factions in supporters associations and all sorts of squabbling going on amongst them that I do not understand. If business matters are at a delicate stage I cannot see that anyone else would be, or should be, party to that information. It would be like us shopping at Sainsburys and thinking we had a right to all the sensitive information discussed in their boardroom.

It is hard to stand on the terrace week after week and then not be a party to any of the important decisions involving the club's future. But that is rife throughout football, surely you listen to 606 occasionally - there was something about this on five live this morning too. To be truly a part of this process we would need to have bought in to the club in the way that some supporters trusts have, although supporter and trust in the case of our club seems to have got a bit lost lately. Siege mentality no doubt.

Anyway, that is what I think. We all love the club in our own ways and do not always agree, but I really think we should hold on and not get too despondent where things go quiet.

how can these loyalists be fans when there keeping it secret from the other fans, i think i could list reasons why im more of a fan than those, and thats NOT counting the fact that i went to all but 3 of the games this season, and two of them i was 4000 miles away where it was totally impossible to get to the game unless im abramovics brother!! i think i/we know who the people that went were (my own ideas who)if i knew this meeting was on i would spead the word seeing a representative from the conference was there then they could see theres a greater number of hardcore fans. BTW im Jamie! (to tony) as you dont know the "annonymous" people!!

Billericay passed through a similar period of turmoil. Many supporters stopped going to matches, turned on the Board, and generally caused much upset - not entirely unwarranted either, let's be clear.

However, there was a core of faithful supporters [some might say misguided ]who were willing to see the situation to it's conclusion.

As it was, a Mr Moneybags came in and bought the club and cleared its debts, and despite all the turmoil of the previous 18 months and the dissapointment of not reaching Conference South, things look positive over there and I think they have a lot to look forward to.

You never know what's round the corner, I'm sure the Margate board are doing everything they can to resolve the probs. Don't let "anonymous" posters wind you lot up in the meantime! Good luck!
