Slow news day - Road signs to Stonebridge Road

Recommended Posts

Before such an ambitious project can be initiated, the council would require knowledge as to the location of the 'Fleet ground. Seriously, the recent elevation of the club to number two status within Kent, has done more to promote the town within the awareness of people nationwide, than even Pocahontas, and certainly the council and probably most residents combined. wall.gif

In February our Chief Executive reported that the road signs to the 'Fleet could be up by April. It's now May, has anyone seen any signs to the ground?

I refer to my previous post on this subject. It's now just a few days to the start of the new season. Any news on when the road signs will be Mr. CEO ?

Most obvious sites have to be the Northfleet exits, off the A2, thereafter taking you through to the "new" road which comes out opposite the ground.

Getting the signs on the A2 would probably be more difficult than calming the insurgency in Iraq overnight, but there ought to be a sign at the roundabout where the new road begins & ones from the town centre taking you out there, via Thames Way (if that's what it's called - the road from Asda.)

Chance: Fat? Slim? Don't hold your breath/make me laugh?

A direction sign at the Pepper Hill roundabout, then at the bottom of Springhead Road would be good. As well as one at the roundabout by McDonald's at Greenhithe for those travelling from the West. That said, if the Club cannot get signs put up in Gravesham what hope is there of convincing Dartford BC/Kent County Council that a sign in Greenhithe is viable!

I'm told that the long awaited signs have now appeared on the new road.
The point not to GNFC as you would have thought but to "The Fleet" which is far more friendly.

Thought the council might have the new Gillingham signs up first! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pineapple.gif" alt="" />
