Oxford release six

Oxford boss Graham Rix has released six senior players following the U's failure to reach the play-offs.
Andy Woodman, Matt Bound, Lee Steele, Richard Walker, Manny Omoyinmi and Courtney Pitt will not be retained.

Experienced defender Paul McCarthy is also leaving after turning down a new deal to stay with the club.

But Dean Whitehead, Chris Hackett, Scott McNiven, Andy Crosby, James Hunt, Matt Robinson, Jefferson Louis and Dave Waterman have been offered contracts.

Goalkeeper Simon Cox and midfielder Danny Brown are also staying on after the option of a 12-month contract extension was taken up.

Could this be the same Courtney Pitt that featured in Sunday's Football Diaries on BBC2(Weymouth's pitch -what a laugh!!) with his "agent" Sky("Don't worry, Sol, I'll get you a nice deal at Arsen*l") Andrew road testing an Audi TT? Could come in handy for trips to Braintree for him next season.

Pitt wouldn't be a bad signing for us if we played him wide left. If you thought Sidibe was quick then Pitt is lightning. Just needs more consistentcy apparently. Saw him play against Gills for Pompey.
