Trophy Final

Anyone have any indication how ticket sales are going for the big game on Sunday?

I went to the last final 3 years ago and initially thought we took about 5,000 fans though a friend now informs me it was more like 3,000.

Although Hednesford only have a fairly small support they are very close by to Villa Park so will presumably bring a fair size crowd too.

Oh and apparently you might think that all the Villa Park officials would be supporting the Birmingham team - well apparently not, this Hednesford team are nearer to St Andrews - so they ll all be rooting for us to turn them over!

Dunno about the St. Andrews bit. Hednesford is north/northwest of villa, and looking at the map they would have to pass villa to get to st andrews which is s/west of villa in the city. As for sales, we've apparently got 15 coaches going(supporters club run) and as last time many footy sides, pubs, etc. are organising their own transport. I personally know of six limos from different places going. The last figures i heard were 4200 sold by Canvey, 2500 by Hednesford.

good luck on sunday. you beat us 3-1 en route to the final and i would like to see you win it so we can say we lost to the winners. also, good luck in the conference next season.

we have both roughly sold 2,400 tickets but there are quite a few local coming along to root for the mighty pitmen!!!

oh.nd btw we have neutrals from brum coming to support us,and we are NOT a birmingham team as we are little over 25miles away!

The more the merrier. Everyone out to enjoy a good day's football and to prove that non-league can provide just as much tension, thrills and excitement as the 'big' boys. I want Canvey to win but if they were to lose, so what? It's still a great day out that I am going to enjoy from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed.

Good luck both teams - let's all enjoy ourselves.

Hopefully I'll see you all there one more time this season, sporting (maybe) a camera to capture the day!

And to be honest, I couldn't give a toss if we win, lose or draw tomorrow. We've achieved our primary goal this season. It will just be another momentous occasion and will bring back memories for me of the 2001 Final.

As soon as I get confirmation from Ian_W. I hear he's been busy over the last week or two.

However alas, I will not be in the stand cheering along with the Yellow Army tomorrow as I am there on business purely giving assistance to a certain member of the Press. However I think I could develop a soft spot for the boys in Yellow!!
