Just heard the news and am absolutely gutted. My sincere condolences to Sue and all the kids.

Clive was an absolute legend - undoubtedly one of the nicest blokes I've ever met and the best footy manager I've ever worked under (though not tactically!)

RIP Clive. God bless.

I was at the funeral today and everything went well, even the choking vicar seemed apt.

A large turn out of greenlights and club representatives along with family and other friends and a certain George Borg.

Goodbye old Friend & Boss.

Can only endorse what brunob has said. Nice to see us all together again, but as we all said, shame about the circumstances.

Nice touch by his team to carry him in and out of the church, and well done Lee Mills for the eulogy, you just summed it up well mate.

Why is it that the good go so early.? You were a legend Clive, and we all imagine you using the wreaths instead of jumpers for goalposts, in a late night kick about.

Well said John, it was nice to all meet up again. We really should not leave it so long next time, it is true what they say Life is too short.

Lets hope we can organise that special Charity Game in the not too distant future.

Take Care

I think Clive would have been chuffed at the turnout. He managed to reunite the Green Lights again. Seeing Jason Street, Danny Valverde and John Taverner again was great - all we needed was the Moore's and Fartarse and we would have had a near set of lights ;-) Best vocalist of the day? Pat Cunneen. 'Abide With Me' started up and I couldn't sing. I think that it was not only the Vicar who was choking there yesterday.

Hi Sophie, so sorry for your loss, always sad to lose a member of the Non-League community. I worked with a Clive Butterfield in BT about 20 years ago, he was a top bloke, apart from his love of Spurs ;)  but I don't know if that was your dad. x
