Aylesbury United

Hi I used to live in Milton Keynes and travelled week in, week out to Buckingham Rd to watch the Duck. Moved away in 1998 though and havent been back since. Was just wondering if anyone could tell me how the ducks are doing, what the clubs financial state is and also any ground improvements, future plans etc. Are they one of the clubs going to join the exodus to the southern league?

Infact the Ryman league seems to be a completely different entity since I moved, all the big clubs seem to have changed (It used to be Aylesbury, Enfield, Sutton, Kingstonian, Chesham, Marlow and St Albans when I watched). While clubs that were small such as Bedford can Canvey seem to have risen through the ranks.

Aylesbury have have just got promoted back to the RPL after 2 years out. They've had some financial trouble since being pipped by my team (Sutton) for the championship 3 years back.

Of the teams you mentioned who used to be among the title challengers Sutton, Kingstonian, Enfield, and Chesham are still in the divsion (Sutton & Kingstonian having enjoyed/endured spells in the conference) but are weaker than before.

Don't know what's happened to Marlow though.

Thanks, yeah other big teams I forgot were Slough, Bromley and Dulwich. I remember Dulwich had a really modern stand but my fave ground was St Albans. My least fave was Oxford City. I remember us beating them 6-1 though so thats ok <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

The Ryman league seems a lot weeker than when I used to follow it though.

I had plenty of happy days at Buckingham Rd though

Slough, Bromley and Dulwich are all Division 1 clubs now. Why does it look weeker (sic) just because there are different teams in the Premier Division?

No because a lot of the clubs seem to have gone through financial hardship. And also before the teams that went up from the Ryman (Diadora league then) used to dominate the conference. Also crowds are down etc, And I heard something about a mass exodus to the southern league coz the Isthmian was going to go amatuer again is this true?
