...agree that Saunders has not shown much at present but lets give him a chance although he needs to show much more than thus far to get in the side.

Did anyone else think the crowd looked bigger than announced? I thought 800+ looked about right.

One thing confused me from last nights game - did the ref ask for our second half number 10 to be substituted (sorry - not sure who he was)?

 

The ref trotted towards our bench with our player beside him. The player promptly went off and it appeared that the bench and the sub were unprepared to change over? (Or am I just going plain mad - dont answer that, please !!)

 

Thought Pinno looked good again tonight, albeit that he was rather selfish once or twice. The control of the ball that dropped over his shoulder wide on the right in the first half was superb, and his run across the defence which ended with a fierce left footer just over the top, wasnt bad either.

 

The biggest concern was that we didnt create too many clear opportunities - but having said that, their attackers were generally played out of the game as well by our defence.

 

Chris Moore needs to sharpen up a bit I think - the one where the opponent got round the back of him and he had to bring him down, being a particular concern.

 

Thought Matt Rouse did well again and it was his excellent free kick that Roy headed home.

I thought Jay improved in the second half after an awful first half and could/should have had at least one if not two goals from header and then volley later on. Wimbledon were very ordinary apart from goalkeeper, N0 9 and NO 18 who came on in second half they did not create anything after first twenty minutes,the three up front did not really work Pinnock was excellent again, Manny is a luxury I am not sure we can afford in the conference, he might be alright for last twenty minutes when team are tired.From what I have seen so far in the preseason games my starting 11 for game against Northwich would be

I could be wrong, as I'm no expert on the laws of the game (is anyone?) but . . . it looked to me like Andy Ford was trying to
re-introduce Jacko into the game during the second half having been substituted at half time.

However, the ref went over to Andy and said something along the lines of "We can't allow that Andy" to which Andy looked a little bemused.

Is there some rule that doesn't allow a player to be re-introduced into a game if he has previously played and been substitued or did I misunderstand the situation?

I'm sure this never used to be the case for pre-season friendlies i.e. a player could come on and off the field as many times as he liked.

If it was Fleet we could have a video come this time next year of highlights because the camera is good, not like before.

Come on lay off Jay Saunders, he is a good player and a conference player, he was a good player when he joined us from the Gills and nothing has changed, lets not run down our players encourage them, he will do well for us.
