"Canvey impress Simpson"

 

 

Carlisle 0-0 Canvey Island

Paul Simpson has tipped Canvey Island to be among the promotion contenders after they drew 0-0 with Carlisle.

"Canvey played very well, they stuck at it and have got some good individual players," the Cumbrians boss said.

 

"I will be very surprised if, come the end of the season, they aren't up there at the top end of the table.

 

"It's a wake-up call for everybody. There was talk that this was going to be a stroll for us and we have known all along it was never going to be."
