Betting odds

Recommended Posts

I've got a couple of questions....

For example, if I bet £1 on something at 2-1, and the winnings go onto something else at 6-4, my overall winnings would be £7.50 I think, making the overall odds 15-2.

Or if I bet £1 on two things at 1-2, the overall winnings are £2.25 for overall odds of 9-4.

Is my thinking correct, and is there a quick way of calculating the overall odds?

You can tell I'm not really a gambling man.

Your basic thinking is correct, Badge.

There MUST be a site on the Internet where you can insert your bet and the odds and get the result calculated for you, but I haven't checked.

Gave up the gee-gee's several years ago.

The only winner in the long-term, is the BOOKIE !!

13 - 4 is:- 3 and a quarter to 1, or 3.25 to 1.

Just use a calculator.

8-11, OR 11 - 8 ON, is 0.72 to 1 ! Hence approx 72 pence back per pound, plus your £1 stake money !

As an afterthough, I thought I'd use our faithful butler, Jeeves, to do a bit of investigation on your behalf.

You MIGHT find this site helpful in you quest for multiple odd betting.

It looks complicated to start with, but read the instructions, and it works well !

Hi,

you can also "save" any entered bets as a bookmark for reference later, or "copy" the link into postings like this;

tisnt bet example 2/1 6/4

this shows that 2/1 & 6/4 would return £7.50, as you said.

of course using this you can then calculate accumulator bets using up to 10 different bets quickly and accurately, and also calculate the exact returns on doubles only, for example.

i hope it is useful to anyone betting accumulators

cheers
