Apparently the police did threaten to shoot Robin. But then delivered water and orange juice to Batman.

I completely agree with them when it comes to their campaign over custody. The law is an ass when it comes to these battles and there is certainly no equity in the system.

These stunts are brilliant as well. Huge publicity and highlighting genuine flaws in our security protocols. And what harm do they cause? None, they just embarass the establishment. Brilliant.

Everytime something like this happens in parliment they order a major review,So why not order a major review into the cause of the complaint in the first place.

Because democracy itself has failed.
Your average MP doesn't give a stuff about the "petty problems" you present him with at his monthly "surgeries".
In short, they aint got a clue what to review in the first place.

Well, Spiderman on the London Eye caused my family problems. Saturday was the first day in years that we were able to take my mother-in-law up to London, due to her illness. The London Eye was to be one of the highlights of the day. Fortunatley, she didn't mind, and thought the whole affair quite funny.

Damn. Sorry to hear that Badger. I had forgotten about that incident and I suppose the whole Buck Palace thing hindered tourism round the area as well. At least their form of protest does not involve man handling people, lobbing stuff at the police or anything worse. Publicity and disruptions is what they are after and it is working.

It is mindboggling that these security lapses keep happening at such high profile spots particularly when we are in the midst of the "war on terror."

Yeah, presumably the enthusiastic assaults with their truncheons on white heads was designed to show the Police are non racists, they don't care who they kick the excrement out off! I thought they were supposed to be trained not to hit heads but to hit the body and limbs. Still it was country folk they were hitting, so I expect they were told it wouldn't hurt them by the townies in the Home Office!

Say what you like........If i was in that position of having security barriers thrown at me by a bunch of obvious trouble makers......I would hit them as hard as i could, and anywhere i could reach. Did anyone take the trouble to find out how many of those"peaceful protesters" were actual hunteriders? Or was it like in other protests, hijacked by "rent-a-mob?"

I don't know if you saw any of the TV coverage in the USA, FleetFan, but there were a fair number of people including women, who were being hit repeatedly, whilst on the ground, trying to get up,having been pushed to the ground by the crush behind them. In the interviews, they certainly didn't sound like Rentamob. I take your point, but I think some of the Police just lost it.

I saw it on BBC America,i clearly saw barriers being thrown at the Police.......is that peaceful?

After being involved in a "peaceful"demo in the 60's which was hijacked by the rent-a-mob crowd.......and seeing Polic horses stabbed with nail spiked sticks and having marbles thrown under their hooves.......I have no sympathy whats so ever.

One letter in the Sunday Press summed it up rather well.

To para-phrase.....

The writer suggested that as the pro-hunt lobby wanted to make their point, they should be allowed to run round London for a couple of hours.........

hotly pursued by the Metropolitan Police Mounted Division and the Metropolitan Police Dog Section.

Sounds good to me......................
