Are we expecting problems tomorrow?

From tonight's Evening Echo...

quote:
Billericay Town are putting police and the club's own security staff on alert for a likely invasion by hundreds of rival fans for a big match tomorrow.
Club officials have been keen to play down fears that the Ryman League Premier Division match against former Football League club Aldershot Town could prove a flashpoint.
However, a history of trouble when the two teams have met in the past means that no chances are being taken.
Billericay chairman Rod Moore has denied claims that security is being stepped up due to tensions over the fact that Billericay's new first team coach George Borg came to the Essex club after quitting his post as Aldershot manager a few weeks ago.
There have been rumours Borg will be targeted by some Shots followers at this weekend's game, but Moore said: "We have no knowledge of this and don't believe it will happen. Certainly no threats have been made to us here.
"The police and security staff will be on no more than a watching brief."
Some four years ago, a group who were apparently followers of the Hampshire club stormed the New Lodge clubhouse after an FA Trophy defeat and rioted in scenes which Moore himself later described as "like a Wild West movie".
Moore added: "Those incidents were some years ago now and thankfully matches between the two sides have gone ahead without any crowd problems in recent years."

There's always police present at big games, and with a possible 1000 crowd expected tomorrow will be no different. IMHO the Echo is making a mountain out of a molehill. Suspect the Shots fans will be more interested in giving Borg some grief than in starting any trouble, and I hope that the game will be a good 'un!
