For the benefit of anyone who couldnt get to St.Albans last nite - u didnt miss much! With both teams nestled comfortably in upper mid table and a track record of sparse goalmouth action and even less goal action at this ground in this fixture in recent years, a 0-0 draw was highly predictable! In fact I can't recall either keeper making a save, Saints coming closest to scoring by hitting a post in the second half , whilst Towns best chance wdent begging when Joe Baker scuffed Martin Carthy's knock down wide before HT. Interesting debut by Jerome John in Ricays goal - looked to me the smallest, but by far liveliest player on view, with some safe handy work and excellent Barthez like throw outs upfield.

I'm trying to do a match report. My notes have 5 points of interest, 2 of which I can't read what i've written. Could be a short one!

I agree with Nitetime Neil above, though there was some good passing on display (better than that Confernece rubbish on Monday night!) and we at last looked match-fit and kept it going to the end. <p>A goal would have livened proceedings but that will come; we're getting closer!
