Still reckon with Moussa and Manny supplying all the tricks, and Roy good in the air, Ben would have been useful as a sub that could get in the box and pick off the opposition.

Nevertheless........Ben did a good job for us......in spite of heavy criticism !! Ok...that penalty was crap !!....but he was a good asset to the team last season.

Don't think Ben was given a fair chance by some fans. His record with various clubs speaks for itself. A proven goalscorer who could still have done a job for us. Good luck Ben

For once I agree with you!! but for now we need another Louis type up front for competition for Roy, who's finishing is not the best, apart from his heading.

If Roys finishing was any better he wouldn't be playing in the conference.

Rumour had it Anthony Elding had fallen out with Westley and was looking to leave Stevenage. Don't know if that's still the case.

Think of a well known phrase using the word bargepole <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I was thinking of a phrase that sounded like "Rat Bar Steward!" Dave. <img src="/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" />

I also tried to think of a word that rhymes with "obnoxious," but I'm afraid I ran out of ideas.

Bet we buy him now and I end up having to eat my words when I find out he has become a Slimmed down, Born again Christian who has given all his money (and pies) to charity!

I saw Alan Tait play for our reserves so that Andy could run the rule over him. I believe we had first option on him. Based on the trial game I wouldn't have signed him and Andy chose not to pick him up either, electing to go for Roy instead. Another pretty good decision by Mr F in my opinion as he went for the experience of Roy versus the undoubted potential of young Mr Tait. We can't sign everybody for God's sake! That left Tait to sign for his home town club, the Creepies, and Roy scored many of the goals that shot us up the league last season! Sorted, in a White Bucket sort of way. I wouldn't mind signing someone like that Evil McEvilly geezer at Accrington because I think it certainly helps to have a physical presence up front in the Conference(reference L Hatch, Barnet FC). Roy's more subtle, a touch sort of player. I yearn for amodern day Andy Woon, come to think of it Woonie looks like he could still do a job!
